20 May 2019
Centre Cívic Convent de Sant Agustí

The objective of this focus group was to discuss the innovation electric car in the context of decarbonisation policies and the rapidly changing urban mobility landscape of the city of Barcelona. In bringing together the views of different actors, the focus group provided a space to discuss visions, expectations, concerns, and challenges posed by mobility innovations and the ensuing social practices. The discussion was informed by the results of the MAGIC.

Specific objectives of the focus group were:

  • Compare the narratives about electric vehicles at the level of the European Union's policies with local narratives from consumer cooperatives, civil society organizations and citizens in general.
  • Reflect on the implications of the quantitive story-telling about the electric car.
  • Identify gaps in knowledge, concerns and alternative solutions, sources of uncertainty, expected conflicts and risks to be addressed in future QST cycles.
